	<![CDATA[Donated funds were raised as part of the 13th Annual Julius Berger Cup Charity Golf Tournament, held in Abuja.
<br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Additional Information</span><br />Giving back to host communities through charitable donation is a strong aspect of Julius Berger’s corporate culture and business principles. The Annual Charity Golf Tournament is one way in which the company involves employees and communities in creating social progress. The charity raised as a result of last year’s 12th Annual Tournament was donated to two organizations working to help the underprivileged.
A Donation of one million Naira was given to the Nyanya IT Training Center in Nyanya, Abuja, to help them improve the training available for young adults on IT related skills. An additional one million Naira was donated to the Good News Humanitarian Foundation, Abak, Akwa Ibom, to to give them general support for their facilities.

The community book drive was one component to the company’s CSR driven Literacy Campaign, which was launched in 2012 and included the initiation of Julius Berger Book Clubs and the distribution of over 5,000 copies of the book “The Great Fall” by Nigerian author Chinyere Obi-Obasi, to chosen schools in Abuja, Lagos and Uyo. The Literacy Campaign was established with the goal of reinvigorating the reading culture in Nigeria’s youth, and further included writing workshops, tailored to improve the reading and writing skills of participating students.

<content:encoded><![CDATA[The “Nigeria at 50 Pavilion” was designed and constructed by Julius Berger to serve as a space for education and cultural exchange; a platform for the promotion and preservation of Nigeria’s rich history and vibrant heritage. In addition, in the spirit of cultural enrichment, the space could welcome the international community, as a place to share their culture and encourage understanding and exchange.
The fully functioning 1,037 square meter building consists of a large auditorium, six exhibition areas, as well as administrative and functional areas.
The handover of this building is the last in a number of contributions by Julius Berger for the “Nigeria at 50” celebrations, held in 2010.<b></b>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[On March 11, 2013, JB held an award ceremony in Abuja FCT to award the first place winner, Maimunah Zakari, from the Government Secondary School in Jiwa.
On March 6, 2013, JB held award ceremonies in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, to recognize the second and third place winners, Mmenyene Nse Etim, from the West Itam Secondary School, Ekit Itam and Glory Ekanem Edet from the Community Secondary Commercial School, Ikot Okubo, respectively.
The short story writing competition was one component in Julius Berger’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) driven 2012 Literacy Campaign. The Literacy Campaign also included the initiation of Julius Berger Book Clubs, the distribution of over 5,000 copies of the book “The Great Fall” by Nigerian author Chinyere Obi-Obasi to schools in Abuja, Lagos and Uyo and writing workshops, tailored to improve the reading and writing skills of participating students. The Literacy Campaign was established with the goal of reinvigorating the reading culture in Nigeria's youth and will continue in 2013.
Beneficiaries of the initiative are Public Schools with a proven record of excellence and focus on progress.

<content:encoded><![CDATA[The refurbishment included the rehabilitation of the classrooms, the principal’s and staff offices, as well as the sanitary facilities, which &nbsp;were handed over by representatives of the Julius Berger Nigeria Area Management to the State Government on March 5, 2013.
The highly dilapidated school facilities built ten years ago by the community were refurbished as part of JB’s Corporate Social Responsibility Program, aimed to creating sustainable impact and value in its host communities. The Old Netim Community is located in the surroundings of a JB operated quarry providing resources for several JB construction sites.
The refurbishment works of the facilities were subcontracted, while JB provided logistics and material support. The rehabilitated school is expected to host 100 to 150 students.

<content:encoded><![CDATA[The workshops are being carried out as part of the second phase of activities tied to the establishment of JB Book Clubs, and are aimed at actively giving students tools to improve their reading and writing skills.<br /><br />The initiation of the JB Book Club, in June of this year, included visits by members of the Julius Berger CSR team to chosen schools and distribution over 5,000 copies of the book “The Great Fall” by Nigerian author Chinyere Obi-Obasi, for students to read over their summer break. The JB Book Club was created based on the goal of reinvigorating the reading culture in today’s youth, and the writing workshop, which are being facilitated by Mrs. Obi-Obasi, are tailored to further improve the reading and writing skills of participating students, utilizing short story writing as a platform.<br /><br />Prior to the workshop, the author will hold an interactive question and answer session will all students.<br /><br />Beneficiaries of the initiative are Public Secondary Schools with a proven record of excellence and a strong focus on achieving progress.

<content:encoded><![CDATA[Over 6,000 nets are being distributed to pregnant and nursing women, but also to students for them to take home to their families. In addition to the malaria net, beneficiaries are also given an information pamphlet explaining how to care for the net and most importantly, containing additional tips on how to help prevent malaria.<br /><br />LLIN’s are a very effective means to prevent malaria infection because they create a protective barrier against mosquitoes at night, when the vast majority of transmissions occur.<br /><br />Beneficiaries of the initiative are Primary Health Centers as well as Public Secondary Schools with a proven record of excellence and a strong focus on achieving progress.

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[Julius Berger has had a history of successful works and harmonious community relations in the Atlas Cove area. In the year 2000 the company was contracted to design and construct a Single Point Mooring, offshore pipeline and tankage facility. Subsequently the company was chosen to build the New Atlas Cove Jetty facility, commissioned in 2003, and to carry out repair works in 2011 resulting from the damage of a bomb blast which occurred in July, 2009. In addition to construction works, JB operates and maintains both facilities on behalf of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation. 
As part of JB’s ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility, the company also built a medical facility for the Tarkway Bay community in 2003. Further, Julius Berger contributes to creating sustainable value in its host communities through employment of local labor.<b></b>

At which time the JB CSR team will again visit participating schools, together with the author.
