JB Donates N2million to Children’s Charity
Julius Berger Nigeria PLC has made a donation of N2million total, to two children’s homes in Abuja as part of its continued Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts. Daughters of Charity, services for children with special needs “Hope Centre” in Kubwa, and the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ school in Garam, were each given a donation of N1million to support their educational facilities.

Julius Berger Nigeria PLC is committed to supporting education for the less privileged, and also the fight against the HIV/AIDS pandemic. The company has deployed substantial resources in its efforts to support these initiatives. As a dedicated corporate citizen, Julius Berger Nigeria will continue to support the needy.
The Daughters of Charity first came to Nigeria in 1963 and has since built up an excellent reputation in the country. The charity home has 400 years of experience in helping persons who are poor. Since its opening in Abuja in September 2000, the Charity’s “Hope Centre” in Kubwa has become a safe haven for no fewer than 67 children with intellectual and physical disabilities, aged 18 months to 18 years. The schools core values are: Right to life, Respect, Independence, Love, Hope and Service.
The Poor Hand Maids of Jesus Christ started a school in Azhin Kasa, the border town between Abuja F.C.T. and Niger State, at the request of the villagers. The school was opened in April 2008 and now has a pupil population of no fewer than 140 children, aged between 2 and 11 years old. The schools goal is to not only give children a chance for education, but also, to help them contribute to change for the better of their families, their village, and even the country.
