Julius Berger Donates School Rehabilitation to Old Netim Community

Julius Berger Nigeria Plc (JB) has completed the rehabilitation of a six classroom block at Community Secondary School in Old Netim, Akampka in Cross River State.

The refurbishment included the rehabilitation of the classrooms, the principal’s and staff offices, as well as the sanitary facilities, which  were handed over by representatives of the Julius Berger Nigeria Area Management to the State Government on March 5, 2013.

The highly dilapidated school facilities built ten years ago by the community were refurbished as part of JB’s Corporate Social Responsibility Program, aimed to creating sustainable impact and value in its host communities. The Old Netim Community is located in the surroundings of a JB operated quarry providing resources for several JB construction sites.

The refurbishment works of the facilities were subcontracted, while JB provided logistics and material support. The rehabilitated school is expected to host 100 to 150 students.
