Julius Berger Continues to Donate Beds to Hospitals in Need

On Thursday, April 16, 2020, Julius Berger Nigeria Plc (Julius Berger) donated 48 beds for hospitals, including mattresses and partitioning frames to the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital (UATH) in Gwagwalada, where the Company has recently also donated an ambulance vehicle.

The contribution was made to further support the hospital with needed resources to care for patients in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, especially in consideration of its designation as a Covid-19 isolation and treatment center by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

Made from high-grade aluminium parts, the beds were manufactured in Nigeria by Abumet Nigeria Limited (Abumet), Julius Berger’s aluminium and glass processing subsidiary. Abumet converted its production capacities at short notice for the timely production of the beds. Efforts were carried out in conjunction with Julius Berger’s AFP furniture production, who also delivered part of the components for the beds.

Julius Berger is unwavering in its commitment to support the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic in Nigeria. Through various contributions, the Company will continue to support efforts to overcome this historic challenge.
