From May 4, 2020 through May 6, 2020, Julius Berger Nigeria Plc’s (Julius Berger) Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) team toured the Federal Capital Territory in continuance of its Covid-19 response Food for our Communities campaign.
Over the three-day program, the Company expanded its reach and impact through the donation of 1,200 bags of rice along with staple cooking supplies to six Council Areas in the Federal Capital Territory. Recipient Council Areas included Gwagwalada, Kwali, Abaji, Bwari and Kuje as well as the Kagini community, where His Royal Highness, Seriki Isah Jemutu Gbegbe presided over the distribution of the food relief packages, which were handed out to the most vulnerable of citizens of the community.
Food relief packages were received with expressed thanks by all beneficiaries.
Julius Berger’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic reflects CSR initiatives aimed at providing direct support to those on the frontlines in the fight against the virus as well as the provision of support to communities by supplementing their access to staple food supplies. The Company continues to expand its reach in providing resources and support.
