PrimeTech Staff Applaud Management for Promoting Health Awareness in the Workplace

Staff at PrimeTech Design and Engineering Nigeria Ltd have expressed appreciation to the company’s management for sustaining its annual Health Awareness Day – an initiative that brings medical professionals and diagnostic services directly to the workplace at no cost to staff.

In partnership with Total Health Trust (THT), a member of the Tangerine Africa Group, PrimeTech recently hosted a comprehensive health awareness programme at its Idu, Abuja premises. The initiative included a range of health screenings such as blood pressure checks, blood sugar tests, BMI measurement, urinalysis (including tests for cervical cancer and other conditions), and eye examinations.

According to Mr. Abubakar Mustapha, PrimeTech’s Finance Manager, the programme is a proactive effort by the company to ensure the well-being of its employees beyond the regular health insurance coverage.

“Our General Manager, Engr. Christian Moessmer, is deeply invested in the health of our staff. He understands that due to the demands of our project work, many employees often overlook their health. Unfortunately, regular hospital visits aren’t yet a cultural norm in our part of the world. This initiative is our way of bringing healthcare closer to our team,” Mr. Mustapha stated.

He further explained that department heads were engaged to ensure maximum participation and that time off was officially granted so all employees could visit the various health stations set up within the office premises.

Engr. Modupe Olorunpomi, an Assistant Infrastructure Engineer at PrimeTech, described the initiative as thoughtful and convenient.

“With our busy schedules, it’s difficult to find time for basic health checks. Having these services brought directly to us at the office makes it easy and accessible. I was especially happy to check on my eyesight, which I always appreciate due to my long-time use of corrective lenses. The management has really done well with this initiative – it clearly shows they care about us.”

Senior Architect Afis Gafar from the Architecture Department also praised the company’s leadership:

“As we age, health monitoring becomes increasingly important. This initiative came at just the right time – someone taking the time to check on you, offer medical advice, and ensure you're doing okay. Kudos to the management team. More grease to their elbows!”

PrimeTech’s Health Awareness Day has become an annual tradition aimed at reinforcing a culture of wellness and preventive care within the company. By bringing medical resources directly to the workplace, the event promotes not only physical health but also a sense of care and community among staff.
